OCT 3D EYE SCAN

The Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT) is an advanced eye scan which helps early detection of macular degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma and much more. A 3D eye scan allows us to see beneath the surface of the retina using only light. We are able to detect things that are not always visible in a retinal photo or with conventional methods.

The scan is, painless, simple and quick. What’s more, the software can automatically detect even the most subtle changes to the retina providing an invaluable on-going record of the health of your eyes.

Your optometrist can review the images straight away and discuss the findings with you. The OCT scan means that you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your eyes are healthy.

What does OCT cost?

Private Patients:
Advanced eye examination including OCT £55 (£35 without OCT 3D scanning).

NHS Patients:
Advanced eye examination including OCT £20

Please remember that this service is for those patients who cannot travel to us due health reasons. If you are entitled to help with eye examination costs, the NHS will ask us to give a reason why a home visit was necessary.

We will endeavour to carry out a thorough eye examination at your home, however not all our eye examination equipment is portable. We can also bring a selection of frames as required. Please contact us for further details.
